I’m new to this I’m pretty keen and have a budget of $1000 I don’t have any gear, if you could point me in the right direction it would be great

Wetsuit I’m thinking 3mm and I’m based in nsw

Fins
Mask
Snorkel
Floatline
Float
Weight belt
Weights

Anything else I need?

Dive socks and Gloves too.

I also recommend having a safety whistle and signal mirror.
In summer 3mm is generally good. In winter you may need a 5mm suit.
Aim to get a belt with a quick release buckle, so you can ditch it quickly if needed.

Maybe check the spearfishing buy / sell group on FB.
Also might be worth getting in touch with the local spearo clubs, as their members may have stuff they want to sell off.

With the mask i recommend try them on before buying.
They all fit differently and the most expensive wont necessarily fit the best for you.
