As per Calendar, 6th November. Meet @ 8.00 am at tourist info Centre.

At this stage it is a shore dive, but there is a possibility it may be a boat/shore dive.

Will let you all know.

What a great day for a comp. 20-25 keen divers on 4 boats set off from Newhaven boat ramp at Phillip Island. Reasonably good conditions, on a 30 degree day, greeted us at Cape Woolamai. We anchored inside the point, the hooter sounded and we were off. Some came for a social dive or to film. The comp divers fared reasonably well and generally headed east along the ocean side of the point. Many crayfish were around but being closed season, we couldn’t take any. As the day wore on, the chop and swell started coming up. Vis varied between a hazy 4-10m. Later we weighed the fish at the park on the island side of the bridge. Some of the species landed included Rob Torelli’s 2990gm Banded Morwong, Chris’s 1510gm Snook and 700gm Pike, as well as Joseph's & Drew's Whiting up 550gm. Rob won the day which was a great effort considering the fact he’s just returned from a Queenland trip. Overall results as follows:

1st Rob Torelli, 14 species, 1598.7 pts, 100%
2nd Paul Dorfstatter, 12 species, 1344.0 pts, 84.06%
3rd Louie Papadopoulos, 12 species, 1343.6 pts, 84.04%
4th Drew Fenney, 11 species, 1244.3 pts, 77.83%
5th Frank DiMartino, 10 species, 1114.2 pts, 69.69%
6th Joseph Bednaret, 10 species, 1110.0 pts, 69.43%
7th Chris Monaghan, 913.7 pts, 57.15%
8th Russell Bennett, 902.9, 56.48%
9th Hein Preller, 886.7 pts, 55.46%
10th Ziya Mustafa, 869.5 pts, 54.39%
11th Jake Morris/Torelli, 778.6 48.7%

Thanks to all who participated and those who made their boats available. Great diving and look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Louie
