Are you the kind of person who:
-likes to brag about how big your "-i--" is
-likes to ridicule your friends when they lose
-likes to boast about past glories'
and will claim that others have cheated if you lose!

If so, then this competition is for you

Yes Guys/Gals its getting closer to the start of the 2014/15 Vic Challenge. This comp is not for the faint hearted. It will weed out the men from the boys, the roosters from the chickens, the rats from the mice, the urinal cake shooters from the throne sitters, etc

Yes describe it how you may, but if you want to beat your mates and have it etched in history for years then this is the comp to be part of.

Stay tuned for more Details & Rules by the Puss as we get closer to the start date (Sept).

But just to wet your whistle here are some top entries from recent years

Thanks Geoff. Some great fish there. Especially that snapper!!! What a cracker

2 weeks to go until the start of this years prestigious Victorian Challenge (starts September 2nd)

The Vic Challenge ONLY targets 10 key Vic species - see above post. This will be the 14th season the VC has run.

Heaviest fish of each species gets 10 points, second heaviest 9 points, third heaviest 8 points and so on. Maximum score = 100. For those that are wishing to compete in the VC for the first time, see leaderboards from previous seasons. You'll get the idea.

This is a special comp. Other comps under a similar format have popped up around the country and are proving very popular (except for that absolutely bizarre spin off from another club in this state whom shall remain nameless!!). It is tough to win. However, many competing aren't just out to win it. Some have the goal to weigh in all 10 species, others put a wager on with a mate and see who can finish highest and others have the goal to submit a lone 10 pointer.

The VC is open to all AUF members. Fish must be taken in Vic waters. Fish must be submitted within 30 days of capture. Late submissions WILL NOT be accepted. Maximum 2 of each species to be submitted. Fish must be weighed on certified scales. This season will see a set of certified scales at every SFD club meeting. Weigh masters will be throughout the state. I will detail the weigh masters throughout the state closer to the start date.

Preferred method to submit fish is via a PM on the forum to VictorianChallenge.

A leaderboard will be put up under this post before each monthly meeting.

This seasons Victorian Challenge concludes on June 2nd. Good luck and safe diving to all.

Thanks

Minimum weights are as follows -

Whiting / Trevally 340g
Flathead / Sweep / Squid / Australian Salmon / Snook / Snapper 400g
Crayfish 1000g
Kingfish 3000g

I'll put up a new entry form before it starts

The Vic Challenge kicks off Tuesday. See attached fish application form.

Submitting fish is easy. Most print these forms out and hand write in details, then take a pic of the form and PM it in.

Rumour is 'ye old man of the sea' B.Illingworth is going all out this season to win it on handspear. Lets not make it easy for him.

I'll personally put up a slab of choice for any KGW better than Doc's 915g (from last season) and also the 10 pointer snapper.
