Ha not much, just some posts got deleted that I found interesting so now it's in the right place!

Lou, in response to your Crays are overrated statement I agree and disagree.
Taste wise I agree they are a little overrated but still great on the chew but what I'm addicted to is the hunt! As an ab diver maybe you've been spoilt but for us mere mortals looking under that 30th ledge and finally getting a glimpse of what you've been looking for all bloody day gets me everytime! Most satisfying diving there is in my eyes, that and Jewies!

That reason alone is why I disagree with your winter diving is crap statement to. Yeah I agree spearing in freezing cold water for f'all quality (bar whiting) is crap but the crays keep me going! Although after two freezing days back to back this weekend it's left blisters on my lips from the cold! Anyone else experienced that?
(I know, blistered lips hahaha fucken children!)

Your lucky "The Puss" didn't see your Vic spearing is shit statement or it woulda been gloves off for sure!

I love winter diving, some of the best vis I have seen has been in Winter & although my favourite thing to do is craybash (so much so that I forget to actually spear fish) its not all about killing things and eating them all the time... just enjoy the dive, take some pics or film.

The pussy did see that post, and yes Rhyno old mate it brought a tear to my eye. Fuck me Lou, for someone who has supposedly been around you sure do bullshit. Why bag out this state? Victorian spearfishing is shithot and has never been better. Winter, summer, autumn and spring. I love what each season brings and i have no urge whatsoever to dive tropical warm clear water. I'll take cold water with 6m vis and a craggy coastline anyday.

In answer to your question - winter is time for bull crays out for a root, larger snapper in bays and fat stud kgw. All challenging - all great eating. With spring comes the squid run, more stud kgw, trevally etc. Summer and Autumn are prime time.

Wake up to yourself and stop talking shit. Maybe put a dive report up with a few pics. Prove to us all you are as good and experienced as you claim you are fella.

Do you reckon it's all of Vic or just Bass Straight that is crap in comparison.

Lou, been reading all these posts and finding them all very amusing.

Sadly the spearin in bundy is dead and has been for about a year now, (mainly due to the floods) that why we are holding comps up in 1770 where the spearing is good. I hope the weather turns it on for you while your up here for the comp. The waters bout 18 degrees at the moment.

However, i've only been spearing once in Vic, but have dived plenty in vic and in remote bass strait. From what ive seen its not all that bad. Id still take a southern rocky over a painted cray anyday!

Hi Lou,

Ill be diving, we have four women competing so far, a total of around 50 to 60 divers and around 3K of prizes - alot bigger than we planned! The weather is looking a little lumpy but still able to get to the reefs at this stage!

A 3mm will be perfect, i was hoping to get a suit made by legendary to womens fit but it won't be done in time so im looking at some 3mm in the mean time. was thinking an OMER, heard anything good about them?

Claire
