Hi all,

For some reason I can't seem to find a reply button on the new members section so I decided to write in here.
I arrived 2days ago in Melbourne and despite the weather I'm really keen to start diving in this part of Australia.
I'm originally from Italy and I started spearing when just 8yo.
In the last 5 years I was based in Perth and had the chance to go spearing up and down WA's coast. I used to be a member of WAUC and I still am in the Bluewater Freedivers of WA.
I'll be happy to come over at the next club meeting and if in the meantime anyone has a spare spot for a day out in the water I'm ready to chip in for fuel and post-fishing beers :)
I hope to get to know you guys soon.

Cheers,

Aldo

Hi Aldo & welcome to Vic! Unfortunantly you just missed our monthly meeting which was on Tuesday evening but not to worry there is next month! We have an event this weekend at Phillip Island if you are interested in coming for a look and meet a few of the gang.

Anyway, once again, welcome!

Thanks Cdog,

Sorry I've missed this month's meeting, I'll be here for the next one for sure.
Saturday I was busy but I went to Philip Island yesterday, I couldn't find a suitable spot to jump in though.
How did the competition go anyway?
I hope to get in the water next weekend, weather looks pretty good Saturday and Sunday :)

Ciao Aldo,
Ben arrivato a Melbourne ... proseguo in inglese per cortesia verso gli altri soci del forum / club

There are quite a few Italians frequenting the club and the forum: Mario and I catch up every once on a while for a bay dive
Depending on where you live in Melbourne I'd be more than happy to meet with you and give you some of the preliminary advice you might need to enjoy Victorian waters. Certainly the club is a also a good place to meet lots of experienced and enthusiastic people, unfortunately I can't make the monthly meetings.
Send me a private message if you want to catch up even just for a coffee or aperitif.

A presto
Ciao
Pietro
