Been on the forum for a while or recently registered a username and haven't formally introduced yourself. Well this is the place to do it.
Welcome aboard :P

Hi there,

My name is Mat and I have been spearfishing very sporadically for many years. I'm looking to step up my skill level and keen to meet other divers and learn of decent spots around the bay.

Any details on the next meet would be great :)

Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster and forum joinerer! Im down at cape woolamai, which makes life easier from a skindiving point of view. Its been great researching destinations and reading dive reports, I will endeavour to post a few reports this summer.

Great forum and great content, thanks again.

Hi Guys,

New here, new to spearfishing and new to Australia!

Me and the girlfriend drove here from the UK (yes drove) in 2013 - www.siroccoverland.com

Got into spearfishing as what I thought would be a cheap hobby (haha!) and really enjoy it. We got our residency last month so we are now here to stay.

Living in Portarlington out on the Bellarine, working in Geelong. If anyone is down this way please get in touch as I could do with a dive buddy who doesn't get cold after an hour like my other half.

Considering coming along to the meetings and maybe joining to enter some comps. My aim and bottom times are getting better each weekend.

Gareth

Gday all,

its been quite a while since i picked up the old hawian sling. But after reading through some of the fantastic dive trip reports \photos
you have made me very keen again. plus the desire to consume fresh crayfish/flathead/ also helps

Will be getting a new gun and some new toys this year.

Heading out at willy on sunday weather permitting

Cheers Wilbur

G'day all.

New to the forum, not new to spearfishing. I am from W.A. Haven't had a chance to do much over the last few months as I have just moved here last year in November and work in Defence.
Just had my dive gear sent over so I am keen to learn and expeirence the waters of Vic.

Cheers.
Lewy.

Hi All

A quick intro - for me snorkeling started at around 13 or 14 diving for abalone off the skerries in east gippsland - now a bit older I still get in the water fairly regularly mainly just to go for a cruise, sometimes abs or try and get lobster (not so successful on the crays...) I have spearfished a bit but not regularly or recently. Have recently moved to Mt Martha and looking to get into the water more often - looked at doing more scuba but it doesn't do it for me so thought I would explore spearfishing a bit more. (I think i prefer the feeling of actually swimming)

Looking to do some comps over the next 12 months and will try and fill all 10 species in the Vic challenge this upcoming season.

I just joined AUF and selected Southern Freedivers do i need to do anything else to participate in comps?

Hi,
new to spearfishing. Moving to Torquay in a month and keen to get underwater when it's not windy enough to be windsurfing. Looking for advice with where to start? what to buy? how much to spend getting started.
also looking for dive buddies.

Jon
