Pardon my reference to the
immortal Robert A. Heinlein's book.
What I actually want to ask is this:
I have an impression that freediving communities, at least ones I could find on the net, are built around 2 things:
• Spearfishing
• Freediving courses
Ok, courses are important. But how many of them can you take? And what do you do between courses?
And what if I am not particularly interested in killing fish?
I may be unique, but I reckon that freediving is all about what we feel when freediving. The experience itself. Boundless freedom. Therefore the most important thing is just get into the water and dive.
Sounds easy. Could be easy too if I lived somewhere in Fiji. But here I am, in Vicrotia. Have a wetsuit, done a course. Now what?
If I were a scuba diver, I would just join one of the diving clubs and could enjoy weekly boat dives. But as a freediver, I am pretty much on my own. So, what do I do? Any suggestions?
