Hey guys,
Just on this topic me and my dive buddy went down to bay city scuba, during the easter break, and the lady there informed us of a club they where willing to make for the other side of the bay. They handed us a form which if we were intrested in we filled out and on the back of it it has a ativities/events/intrests questionare. The courses they had in the questionare varyed with over 47 different activites/events/intrests including apnea classes. She said they werent trying to compete with Southern Freedivers just trying to make it easier for some of the blokes on the other side. Just something along the topic i can probaly copy and send the form via picture if anybody is intrested. I have not sent it in myself, but am still considering it.
Cheers guys Dave.

I reckon it'd be great if they did, interclub comps etc! It was mentioned at the meeting and the general consensus was that it would be good! Must excite a few of you Westies, remember that they'll probably need a bit of help running it so get in there and offer your time if your keen!

I'd love to do this course also. I only realised at the social dive how inexperienced i was. I was going blue in the face while some of the other boys were just getting comfortable on the bottom.

For those with i-phones there is an app called "Apnea" that i have been using to help condition myself.

Hi All,
Apnea Level 1 Course is happening starting Monday 6th September. Training sessions are running weekly after the first course is completed so give us a call at the shop for more info and book on a course. To receive an info pack send us through an email to info@baycityscuba.com with your name and contact number and a time that you would prefer to be contacted.

If your unavailable and would like to book onto a course and have a couple of mates that are willing to give it a go let us know and we'll build a course around the times that your available.

Regards,

John

This course looks great guys. More time to learn everything instead of doing it over 2 days ...

Thanks John. How much experience do you have instructing freediving?

Hey Jaws,
Depends on who's asking
I have been putting staff members through the apnea level 1 course currently and have been restructuring the course to better suit the individual needs of anyone who is looking to do the course. The course structure is primarily about getting the students comfortable and setting achievable goals. This is paramount to anyone who is new to the sport.

For those who are currently spearo's or free divers its about honing skills and making sure that they enjoy the course and get some valuable information that improves their enjoyment.

If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line.

All the best,
John

Hehe, someone who knows when you did your course  Just making sure you weren't going to tell any porkie pies to the boys in here.

The course sounds really good and you guys that have been asking about beginner level courses should get on to it. I'll be keen if you ever run a more advanced session, post it up here if you do. Really good to see something happening in Geelong again. Good luck John!
