My money would be to go as south as possible... Fish are just dying in the water at black rock so can only imagine how disgusting it is there. I went between Daveys rd and Mt Martha on weekend and it was decent vis so I would head that way.

yeah thats why i didnt go any dive after xmas flood cos of dirty shitty water... but i am bringing a newbie.. so thought good for start drive on the way see what is it like if shit then go down to Mt Martha if its better or same then go further down. wanna be there for slack high tide between 11am to 1 pm. dont want to go far south Portsea can be bit too rough for newbie. wanna start easy as long as there some fish around. Thanks for the head up about Black Rocks. Black rocks is nice shallow up to 2-3 metres.

Fishermans Boat ramp at Mt Martha. Linley point is it good ? I have been there only once about 3 or 4 months ago.
