Went for a paddle this afternoon. Greeted with 10m+ visibility, about a hazy 12m or so (rough guess, and knowing my visibility judgement its probably 3m). Good swim. Nothing seen...Besides a big snapper (45-50cm, around 1.5kg <-- also a rough estimate so 30cm and 400g) which quickly darted into a hole as i drew my gun slowly (he popped his head out to check out my shocking head and then went back into the cave to never be seen again). Good to get in the water. Gurrrrr it was cold though!

Will accept cash offers for the exact GPS coordinates of the dive spot

Tuna, Kingfish, Elephant Shark, Big Snapper - What will be thrown at me next that i will either miss / not get a shot on?

@madmick - do you swim off the shore or boat? I go out in beau bay all the time for a swim - not many fish in reach of shore in my experience. There are a couple of spots I would like to try out about further but not on my own. Always produce heaps of fish with a line so would be cool to have a look.

Got wet this afternoon. 10 degree water. Very skittish school of whiting (some big specimens included) seen. Snook seen but out of reach. Squid eggs seen. Average conditions with a rough current and murky water made for a tough swim!

Thought i hit the jackpot with a HUGE school of squid, turns out it was an enormous congregation of 50+ puffer fish having a mothers club meeting. All in all, a good way to spend a day off work

Got out for a dive this morning out at Mt Martha. Nice and flat, vis a cloudy 5m and temp definitely a little fresh. Not alot was to be seen. Come across 2 schools of about 10-15 squid but were all too small to even bother. And Mitch is right, those bloody puffer fish do look like a school of squid from the surface in tge hazey water. Was still good to get out even if i did have some issues with my new mask and equalizing
