James and myself head off Beaumaris this afternoon. Upon inspection, conditions were looking good. Eager to get in the water, we geared up and set off. Upon entering the water, the visibility was average, but we soldiered on. It took 10 minutes for us to find an enormous school of salmon (100+ fish), with jimmy taking two good ones and myself shooting three, but landing only one. In the landing process of my salmon, I lost my knife and couldn't find it. Luckily it was only $10. We then ventured around the shallows to hunt some flathead, Jimmy found one and unfortunately missed. I took a nice shot at a large one from point blank and as I didn't have a knife, had to hail jimmy over so I could borrow his knife. The flatty measured up 53cm. I saw a dusky (Mum for some reason enjoys the taste of dusky) and had one shot to stone it (didn't have my knife) and I nailed the shot. I took home three fish and Jimmy took home two. A very good session. I have a video of one of the salmon I lost, which is quite funny, and a video of the salmon I managed to land. Ill post them below.

Dusky: 54cm 1.2kg.
Flathead: 53cm 825g
Salmon: 45cm 850g

Salmon Not Landed - I was a bit excited and don't usually celebrate, but this was my first salmon I had ever shot.

Got this bream at Hampton last week.
I forgot to bring the weight belt.

Visibility was ok. Bream was about 2M deep, hiding behind the seaweed. I could only see 1/2 of its head and I thought it might a Blue Throat.
Since I didn't have weight belt, which hard for me to get closer quietly. I decided to give a shot at seaweed rather than aiming at the head.
Turned out it's a bream. Really surprised me.
43cm 1.4Kg

Known affectionately as "goldy' by the Hampton locals for the past 25 years, now reduced to a couple of battered fillets. RIP Goldy, you will be missed.

There should be a 'like' button for posts - that would get one from me

Got out for a dive with Kiwi and Alex late yesterday arvo in search of the mighty PPB snapper, after getting in at Scott's spot X we were fast schooled by salmon which we proceeded to take a few each.
After finding a nice area to berley I put down all the berley I had taken out there, after swimming away and come back a short time later I started snooping over the top of the ledge to see if there was anything in the trail I spotted a nice snapper feeding but being cautious at the same time, after a minute of cat and mouse I saw a shot and took it.... 6.5mm shaft to the spine at full range with the shaft stopping inside the flesh and not penetrating through the other side. upon grabing the fish and dispatching it the shaft fell out. 48cm's of fish!

Thanks for not finding any fish there in the morning Fitzy :-)
