Ok guys, need some help.

I'm currently working on the Sphyraenidae (Barracuda's and Pikes) and am running into a blank wall with regards to the taxonomic status of the various australian species. Its a mess.

So, the next time you or a mate spears a snook (Sphyraena novaehollandiae) could you get some photos of:

a) whole fish
b) the head only
c) the head and mid body (ending at anal fin)
d) a shot of the gills.

Any help will be muchly appreciated.

cheers

cheers, any pics (if youre ok with it) will be used for the new Fishes of Australia website (run by Museum Victoria, ABRS and Australian Museum), with your name attached plus a link to the southern freedivers website (or personal site if you like).

I just finished writing up the Tunas, Cuttlassfishes, Gemfishes and billfishes for the site. Six months of research... :?
