Got a call from Spook a couple of days ago and he had something interesting to say!

He's staying in Anglesea for the week and happened across a proposal to make a rather large section of West Coast a marine park? From Torquay to Kennett river or something along those lines.

Thinking that they may be trying to push it through under the radar whilst the dredging bulls#@t in happening? As soon as November?

I'm sure he's keen to get on here and elaborate, took photos and got a petition etc but I thought the sooner the better we get a bit on conversation going on this one at least as he has no net there.

Koops got any info on this one?

We could lose a few good comp spots on this one!

Yeh, still not really clear on it. From what I hear they are more trying to stop people getting access to beach fishing spots.

Spook said that their reasoning was that 2 rock fishos had passed in the last 15 years? If that was any sort of reasoning then punchbowl should've gone ages ago! Apparently there's heaps of info on it on fishnet?

Thats the official line, but word is they are using that as an excuse to close access. Worried about 4wd etc ripping up the bush.

Cheers for that Malta, clears everything up. Only better tracks etc. for us to walk. I'll let Spook know! Bit of a relief. :D

There are a couple of spots that are getting steps to help access. Mt Defiance is one. Speared my first snapper there, but the guys that had been fishing there all night had a massive haul of huge salmon, barracoutta and pinkies.
