Today is PHONE TONY BURKE DAY (Coral sea Marine Park closures),

It’s easy, just call Minister Tony Burkes office on; 02 6277 7640
If you can’t get through try the switchboard on; 02 6277 7111 and ask for Minister Burkes office.

Tell him; ‘Don’t lock us out’!!

THIS IS THE LAST CHANCE!!!

Easy as, I spoke to one of his admin staff this afternoon, they were very supportive and noted my concerns and conversation that I had. Please do it now, for the price of a short phone call, it is nothing compared to the value of being locked out of this amazing natural resource!! Once again, please call now and be polite!!

Hey Clint,

Rang them up just then. Spoke nicely about major issues such as lack of data supporting reasons for closure and that if there was a change i would support a Marine & Coastal Park over a Marine National Park. As this would allow recreational fishing methods but not commercial fishing methods. The guy came across as if he wasnt interested. It was only when i mentioned that i had studied Marine Science that he seemed to listen and took my name and number down.

Not wanting to put off people by my experience. Please call as its very important that we support this campaign otherwise soon they'll be in our backyard and you wont be able to take your kids fishing off a pier.

I dont consider myself an expert and you dont need to study Fisheries Management to know that the current system eg bag limits are keeping our fish populations sustainable. So why fully close a place. Closing an area is not going to protect a migrating species a month or two later when it leaves.

Please call now

Geoff
