I was sad when I heard, but especially sad because there were few people to tell - a lot have moved on themselves.

I never saw Ron Taylor dive, but I heard stories from people who had. One story was of divers attempting to salvage a boat when they were on scuba. They were at 150 feet. Ron Taylor snorkeled down (powered by Turnbull giant fins), and didn't just turn around and go back, but stayed for a while and shot off several pictures using his Nikonos. Then he decided to return to the surface.

There was also another very funny story about him in a spearfishing competition where he was found in an estuary (not in the rules) with a blue groper in his wetsuit (probably allowed in those days). I will try to remember it all and write it down.

sad news about Ron. Great Fact Pussy, the man was a legend. Here are some classic doco moments with Ron:

- bringing a GWS back from the dead
- testing the steel mesh suits with blue sharks

He also assisting in the making of JAWS

This is also a video he producted of the 1967 WC:
