Please see attached a message from the Victorian AUF Chair, Robert Torelli.
From September 1st 2012, the Australian Underwater Federation (AUF) Victorian division will begin recording Victorian Records for both Women and junior divisions; this is in addition to the existing Open division.
In order to develop these records there will be a three year holding period before submissions will be officially recognised as Victorian records on September 1st 2015. This period will allow a solid foundation to be built in these previously unrecognised categories.
Any fish captured by Women and Juniors in previous National or State Championships held in Victoria, i.e. 58th Australian Nationals, will be eligible to be submitted as Victorian records. Any fish currently certified as National or State records by Juniors or Women will automatically be transitioned into Victorian Records, however these will also be subject to the holding period until September 1st 2015.
We encourage all Women and Juniors to participate in building the history of these records. If you capture a meritorious fish I encourage you to follow the Victorian Record submission process. (In most instances the Open records could be used as a gauge of the capture, with 50% of the Open record being a worthy record candidate.)
