I saw the same thing on Monday morning as I crossed the westgate returning from Gtown, however I took a friend for a gunless dive on the southern end to see some dragons and the vis was not too bad considering. Got some pics and even some footage and the vis looks great. Checked out the back beaches which was another story and not a good one. Don't let the media, internet and speculators control you life, just get out there and have a look for yourselves. I guarantee there are places to dive at the moment with reasonable vis within Vic, if you are prepared to travel.

hey cdog, i've got the same camera. i edit most underwater pics i take to get rid of the green tinge. takes about 10 seconds in windows photo gallery.
if you like the results, all you do is open in windows photo gallery, click the "fix" button, then click "adjust colour". i normally just adjust "colour temp" and "tint".

Close. Windows photo gallery will molest your photos. Use something else. This was done in GIMP - a free program - in about three seconds. Note how the contrast and sharpness is retained compared with windows photo shredder. Somewhat better results can be obtained with Photoshop or Lightroom, but probably not enough to justify their price tag in this case. Likewise spend five minutes on the photo in GIMP and you can squeeze a bit more out of it.
